A holiday on Lake Garda is never 'the usual holiday'
Lake Garda offers so many possibilities that no two holidays here are ever the same. You could start by visiting Sirmione, with its historic village, thermal baths and Grotte di Catullo, or perhaps the Scaligero Castle and the charming lakeside of Lazise, and then continue on to Peschiera del Garda to admire its canals and military fortifications. The elegant city centre of Desenzano del Garda is definitely worth a visit, as is the castle overlooking the sea in Malcesine, but don’t forget the Vittoriale degli Italiani in Gardone Riviera and the enchanting Riva del Garda in the northernmost part of the lake.
Verona, the 'city of love' (but not only...)
Just half an hour's drive from our Village you can visit Verona, with all its mediaeval and Renaissance charm. Spending a day in the city means you will be constantly surrounded by unparalleled beauty, a UNESCO World Heritage Site: the Roman amphitheatre in the Arena, the historic charm of Piazza delle Erbe, the majestic Castelvecchio with the Scaligero Bridge, the promenade along the Adige River and, of course, Juliet's Balcony are just some of the wonders of this city. And towards evening, an aperitif in one of the small bars in the centre is a must!
How about an aperitif in Venice?
The artistic heritage and beauty of Venice are world-famous and certainly need no introduction. At every turn, the city offers striking views and surprising architecture, with canals, streets, bridges and historic buildings to admire. Be amazed by St Mark's Basilica and the Doge's Palace; visit the National Archaeological Museum; be seduced by the Bridge of Sighs and the Grand Canal; sail to the islands of Murano and Burano to discover traditional glass production. Venice is just a couple of hours’ drive from the Le Palme Lazise Family Collection.
Mantua, for history, art, food, and wine
Although not usually included in the main itineraries for mass tourism, Mantua is a city that filled with pleasant surprises. Starting with a truly tasty typical food and wine, whether we are talking about the classic Mantuan-style pumpkin tortelli, meat, or desserts such as Sbrisolona, Torta delle Rose or Torta Elvezia. But Mantua is also a well-kept historic centre with a wealth of cultural sites such as the Ducal Palace, Palazzo Te, the Basilica of Sant'Andrea, and Piazza delle Erbe, all just 40 kilometres from our Village.
