It will be even easier to visit the Riviera Romagnola in summer 2026, thanks to the direct rail link from Zurich–Rimini and to nine new Ryanair routes to Rimini, Parma and Forlì
The Riviera Romagnola and our Resorts in Emilia Romagna have just got even closer to Europe. Summer 2026 will see two important new features in international transport: a direct rail connection between Zurich and Rimini and new Ryanair routes to airports in Rimini, Forlì and Parma. An important sign of openness that will above all provide a boost to foreign tourism, making Emilia Romagna an even more popular destination.
From 30 May to 5 October 2026 Trenitalia and Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) will be introducing the new daily Eurocity connection between Zurich and Rimini. A direct link that will take you straight to the “capital” of the Riviera Romagnola with no changes, and also stopping in Bologna, Faenza, Forlì and Cesena. Now it will be even easier to reach the main cities of Romagna, thanks to a sustainable means of transport, developed above all for those who want to enjoy the sun, sea, and sand of the riviera without spending hours in motorway traffic queues.
The train departs from Zurich every day at 10:33 a.m. to arrive in Rimini at 6:23 p.m., while the return journey will depart for Zurich at 9:52 a.m. and arrive at 5:27 p.m. Tickets can be booked on the websites of Trenitalia and sbb.ch.
The news for summer 2026 does not end here, because low-cost airline Ryanair has announced nine new routes to three airports in Emilia Romagna: flights will be connecting Rimini with Breslavia, Manchester, Cologne and Catania, Parma with Tirana, Reggio Calabria and London Stansted, and Forlì with Cagliari and London Stansted. These new routes will allow German, British and Central European tourists - traditionally fond of the beaches in Emilia Romagna - to reach their favourite holiday spots easily and in such a short time.
Independent accommodation with all the services, private beaches, water parks, sports facilities, restaurants serving local food and wine specialities, and plenty of nature: the Club del Sole Resorts in Emilia Romagna, and in particular, on the Riviera Romagnola, combine comfort and nature, and are the perfect choice for people who want to experience an authentically Italian holiday in one of the best tourist destinations in our country.
